Edyta Barnaś

Doctor of Health Sciences, Professor of the University of Rzeszów. Her research interests concern the health of women and their families in the broad sense of the term. Prof. Barnaś received a Master’s degree and completed her doctorate in medical sciences in the field of medical biology at the Medical Academy of Lublin. In 2014, she was awarded the habilitation degree by the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Medical University of Warsaw. She completed postgraduate studies in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the first edition of an international (Polish-French) programme on the Ethics of Physicians’ Practice and Medical Care, organised in cooperation with the Medical University of Warsaw, the Institute of Mother and Child, and the University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, France. Since 2006, Prof. Barnaś has been an employee of the University of Rzeszów at the Faculty of Medicine, the Institute of Midwifery and Medical Emergency, currently working as Head of the Department of Gynaecological Care and Prevention. Her academic achievements include more than 100 publications, including 17 papers published in IF journals. She taught nursing and midwifery students at Italian and Turkish universities as part of the Erasmus + programme. Member of a Scientific Council and reviewer of Polish and foreign medical sciences and health journals. She promoted two doctors and reviewed three doctorates, as well as was the promoter of 42 Master’s and 163 Bachelor’s theses on midwifery and nursing.
